The Nike LeBron 17 “What the” is an amalgamation design that blends together of some of the most popular colorways in LeBron James’s signature shoe line with Nike Basketball. The eccentric “What the” theme was introduced to the Nike LeBron signature collection on a sample pair of the Nike LeBron 9 in 2012 and then again on official releases of the Nike LeBron 11 and Nike LeBron 12. The medley design returns on the Nike LeBron 17 by combining elements of colorways like the “Currency,” “I Promise,” and the UNINTERRUPTED’s “More Than An Athlete” motto on the left shoe. The multicolor knit design of the right shoe is inspired by the “James Gang” motif. A sketched Swoosh logo is printed on the lateral side of the heel on the right shoe and a gold Swoosh graces the same location on the left shoe. The mismatched theme continues on the midsole and outsole of both pairs.
