The Joshua Vides x Converse Chuck 70 Hi “Black/White” is one of two special colorways and constructions of the iconic high-top sneaker by artist Joshua Vides. Bringing his signature “sketch” aesthetic to the Chuck Taylor, a look Vides gained recognition for with his custom sneaker paint jobs, he transforms the classic model with removable velcro-attached canvas panels in black and and white on opposite sides. The white rubber midsole and toe cap is printed with black outlines that create the optical illusion of a sketch. The outsole continues the theme with more sketched outlines, as well as a fly, underneath the translucent rubber. The Joshua Vides x Converse Chuck 70 Hi “Black/White” released in limited quantities at ComplexCon Chicago, followed by a slightly wider drop on August 16, 2019.
