The Nike Air Presto “USA” is a patriotic colorway based on an unreleased colorway of the shoe given to athletes at the 2000 Summer Olympics. Nike unveiled the Air Presto back in 2000, the same year that the aforementioned Summer Olympic games took place in Sydney, Australia, and the “USA'' colorway was made exclusively for Team USA for the event. In terms of design, the modern “USA” differs slightly from the sample version of the shoe it is based. Whereas the original model featured a light grey finish on the mesh upper, the modern iteration employs a dark navy mesh construction. Like the original sample pair, the contemporary “USA” features circular patterns on the toe and forefoot and an embroidered red Swoosh on the top of the navy base. “USA” embroidery can be found on the nylon tongue and a semi-translucent grey “cage” assists in holding the lacing system in place.
